PROFESSIONAL FOCUS
1. Cancer and other life threatening illness: I have
worked with cancer patients and their families for ten years. I provide
psychological assessment and treatment to patients who are newly
diagnosed, in treatment, in recovery, and facing recurrence and terminal
illness.
2. Individual adult psychotherapy: I work with
adults of all ages, who are exploring past trauma, dealing with anxiety,
depression and bereavement, and facing life transitions such as career
change and aging. I am trained in clinical hypnotherapy and in art
psychotherapy.
3. Marital and Family therapy: I have worked as a
marriage and family therapist for 18 years in Canada and Oregon. I work
with all ages of children and adults in families and with a wide range of
issues including parenting, conflict resolution, and divorce.
4. Chronic pain and stress management: As a medical
psychology resident at the Northwest Pain Center (1991-1992), I gained
experience in assessing and managing chronic pain patients and in
assessing the family dynamics that maintain pain behavior. I taught
stress management and biofeedback.
